Natural series

The "Natural Series" is a short list of natural tree fork slingshots, also called "nattys," that Chris occasionally decides to sell. These one-off wooden catapults or wood-Micarta hybrids (see "The Cobalt Companion") are often featured in his YouTube videos (watch "The Natural Series" videos below) and are highly sought after within the slingshot community. To own one of these frames is to own a piece of functional art crafted by Chris Graffin himself, appealing to discerning customers who value the originality and rustic beauty encompassed therein.

How to Make a Slingshot from a Tree fork

In this video I make a catapult from an oversized oak fork. I used a handsaw to split the fork into a board, bandsaw to cut out my design, spindle sander to clean up my cut and to shape as well as my linisher I finished the wooden frame with teak oil. This build can easily be done with handsaws, rasps, files and sand paper instead of power tools it just takes much longer. I attached snipersling bands and was very impressed with their performance. Making two Slingshots from one Branch

In this video we made two beautiful Slingshots from one big oak tree fork. I tried to save as much bark as possible to maintain the natural look of them. They are dyed in dartfords interior spirit based wood dye and finished with a homemade beeswax paste. I banded them up with .5mm snipersling cut at 25-13mm shooting 8mm steel.
